Ladder Rules Empty Ladder Rules

**__LADDER RULES:__**

- You must be a part of the Ladder to receive the @Ladder Participant role. If you drop from the Ladder and do not return to it within a week of the date you dropped from the Ladder, you will lose your Ladder Participant role and must re-apply for it.

- You may only challenge the person immediately above your rank for their spot.

- There is no limit to how many challenges you may issue per day, unless you lose.

- If you challenge the person above you and lose, you cannot challenge another player for a 24 hour period. However, you may accept as many challenges from others as you'd like.

- For example, if R4 challenges R3 and wins, they move up a rank, but then, if they challenge R2 and lose, they cannot challenge any player for 24hrs.

- If you are challenged by the person below you and lose, you may still challenge other players.

- Whoever challenges another member of the Ladder first gets priority, unless both them and you consent to you pursuing your lower priority match, in which case you may do so.

- For example, if you are Ranked #13 and challenge Rank #12, then even if Rank #14 challenges you, your duel with Rank #12 takes priority.
- An exception to this is if the lower priority duel is against the person below you, in which case you may choose to duel them instead at your own discretion.

- If you are Ranked #20, then you may be challenged by people not on the ladder for your spot. In this situation, the following applies:
- If you challenge the Ranked #19 and lose, you cannot rechallenge them, even after the 24 hour cooldown period is over, until you have accepted at least 1 challenge from someone not in the ladder who has challenged you.

- Once a person reaches the top of the ladder and defended their spot at least once, they will receive the "Veteran Ladder Champion" role to indicate their accomplishment. This is a permanent reward role that you will get to keep with you, even if you leave the ladder.

- Members on the Ladder must be active and will be kicked off the ladder if they have not been active in the ladder for 14 days.

- Members on the ladder will be given 48 hours to respond a challenge, or it will be considered a forfeit.

- Matches must be completed within 48 hours of them being issued. If there is a scheduling conflict, ask a @Ladder Organiser to check if the circumstances for the absence are valid. If they are, you will be asked to duel ASAP outside of this timeframe. If not, it will be considered as a forfeit by the unavailable party.

- All duels will be on MR4, using the latest TCG banlist. The cardpool will consist of all cards available in the TCG and OCG, including currently unreleased cards that are available on Nexus.

- In a case that a duel is interrupted, the person responsible for the interruption forfeits a single round. The Match proceeds from the next round (surrender rounds as necessary). If the reason for the disruption is unclear and neither player had a clear advantage, the duel is restarted.

- In the case that Dueling Nexus's servers are down (both NA and EU), the 48 hour duel timer will be paused, and will resume once the servers are back up. If both participants agree to it, however, they may still duel using a different Dueling Simulator at their own discretion, such as Dueling Book or YGOpro.

- If there's reasonable suspicion amongst the organisers as to believe that a participant is cheating, organisers reserve the right to review their deck profiles before every match. If a participant is caught cheating, they will be dropped from the Ladder and banned from re-entering it.

- Spectators are forbidden in Ladder Matches unless *both* participants give their consent for their duel to be viewed by spectators. If a participant feels that their duel is being spectated, they may request a @Ladder Organiser to intervene by monitoring their duel. Should **any** Ladder Participants be caught spectating another Ladder Participant's match, they will be dropped from the ladder and banned from requeuing for the ladder for 30 days. Anyone caught spectating that is not in the ladder will be banned from entering the ladder for 30 days.

- If a person refuses a challenge, it is considered a forfeit.

- Those who aren't on the ladder and wish to join it can message a @Ladder Organiser to be placed in a first-come, first-served queue to challenge the person Ranked #20 for their place on the Ladder.

- If you are up next on the queue, but are not online, then the member with Rank #20 is allowed to duel the next available person that comes after you.

- We do heavily suggest, however, that if you are at the top of the Ladder Queue that you officially issue a challenge to R20 in #ladder-challenges.

- If you happen to be #1 in the Ladder Queue, a @Ladder Organiser will let you know and remind you of this.

- If a member of the Ladder is dropped from the Ladder, then all current Ladder participants will be moved up in order to fill the vacuum left. Furthermore, Empty spots in the Ladder will automatically be filled up by members of the Ladder Queue.

- For example, if Ranked #7 drops, everyone from Rank #8 to Rank #20 will move up a spot, and whoever is #1 in the Ladder Queue will automatically be moved up to Rank #20.
If participants do not agree upon a specific time and date to host their duel within 48 hours of the initial challenge being issued, the duel will result in an automatic loss for the stalling party. If both participants are stalling, they will both receive losses.

- If you are not active, please don't participate in the ladder.

- Rules can be overridden by @Ladder Organisers as needed, though not without prior discussion amongst each other.

- If you have any questions about any of these rules, or have a question not answered by these rules, feel free to ask a @Ladder Organiser for help.
